Carsebuie is on the outskirts of the Galloway Forest Park, 5 miles from Kirkcowan and 8 miles from the market town of Newton Stewart with cinema, outdoor activity shops, banks, health centre. Stranraer with waterfront pleasure park, supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and leisure centre and Portpatrick are 25 minutes and 30 minutes drive. The Belfast ferry docks at Stranraer, and the Larne ferry docks at nearby Cairnryan. The wonderful beach of Rigg Bay in Garlieston can be reached within half an hour. Bikes can be hired and delivered to the cottage. Walkers will enjoy the varied choice from gentle walks right from the cottage and a little further at Loch Trool and along coastal paths to the more strenuous but well worth the effort Galloway Hills. Mountain biking at Kirroughtree and the famous 7 Stanes is excellent, and there is good fishing, horseriding and watersports all available nearby. For garden lovers you are spoilt for choice, with a range of at least 9 lovely gardens to visit within the county. Boat trips can usually be taken from nearby Port Patrick, and Cairnryan. |
