In an area of outstanding natural beauty Carsebuie is an enchanting country cottage that quickly has you hooked. The views take in the surrounding farmland and distant hills beyond. The birdsong is a delight, as are the hares and red squirrels that frequent the rambling one-and-a-half-acre garden, divided by rustic fences, beech hedges and moss covered stone walls. There is colour here nearly all year round, and plenty to do for all ages.

The property is a secluded early 19th century stone built steading within easy reach of the Galloway Forest Park, fully updated to provide modern comforts in a delightful rural setting. Well equipped and comfortably furnished in a simple and welcoming country living style. The 4 bedrooms are flexibly arranged for romantic breaks or gatherings of friends and family. The accommodation:
Carsebuie is a 19th century traditional stone and slate built farm steading with a lovely homely feel. Through the entrance hall is the conservatory with door to the garden terrace, a wet room, the living room with sofa bed, wood burner, Video/DVD, CD/radio. The country kitchen with telephone and broadband connection, washing machine and ceiling mounted drying rack, fridge freezer, cooker and microwave also has a dining area with seating for 10 and a window seat overlooking the garden. There is a ground floor bathroom with bath, WC and washbasin, a bedroom with two single beds overlooking the garden and a double bedroom overlooking the courtyard and the pretty herb beds. Also on the ground floor is a porch with door to the garden and the staircase. Upstairs are two further bedrooms each sleeping 2 with coombed ceilings and an upstairs WC and washbasin.

Outside:
Outside there are 2 stone barns either side of the courtyard, one for storing bicycles and outdoor equipment and one games room with table tennis table. There is a decked dining area with large table and enough garden furniture for 10 guests and a barbeque. The garden with woodland extends to approximately one and a half acres with red squirrels and delightful birdlife. There is an enclosed section of the garden and a wooden play shed/studio. Guests are encouraged to fill the hanging feeders as these attract the birdlife and the red squirrels so you can watch them close at hand.

The local area:
This is the perfect place to unwind whether that means putting your feet up with a good book in front of the wood burner or enjoying outdoor pursuits: horse riding, golfing, shooting, fishing, off road or tank driving, hill walking, mountain biking, sailing, wind surfing, and nature watching.
Town and city dwellers will soon warm to the gentle pace of the rural lifestyle. For the more laid back visitor, pop into the village shop for newspapers and some provisions, or take a stroll up the gentle hills surrounding the cottage. You are far enough away to have total seclusion yet near enough to friendly shops, pubs and restaurants.

Nearby Newton Stewart offers a leisure centre with gym and swimming pool, a tennis court, a cinema, a delicatessen, numerous cafes, three banks, various restaurants serving quality local produce as well as a chinese and an indian restaurant. There are 3 small supermarkets, outdoor equipment shops, a chemist, a vets’ practice, a dentist and a large health centre. Play parks, tennis and bowling courts are found in most of the villages and towns in the area.
